Package Pricing

All of our tours are arranged through EF Tours** which handles all transportation, insurance, pricing, payments, etc.  Our tour package is nearly all-inclusive. You pay for lunch (a few dinners), tips, free-time activities, optional activities.

A land-only option is available. Contact us for pricing. A payment plan is available but register early so costs may be split up over the months remaining before departure. Speak with your EF Tours customer service representative to eplore your options.

Returning travelers: you are entitled to a discount on this trip.

Rooms and accomodations

Adult prices are for ages 20 and up: included in your price are double rooms (sorry, no discount if you elect a triple room; extra fee applies if you prefer a single room). European hotel rooms normally accomodate no more than three people. If you are traveling with a larger family group, plan to split into smaller divisions of 2 or 3 people per room. Student prices are for ages 8-19:* there is an extra charge if you specify single or double accomodations and are in this age category even when rooming with a parent or guardian. Teens typically room in similar age/same gender groups -- be sure to ask about rooming options before registering if you have specific needs.

Contact us if you have additional questions.

Education focused and family friendly

Know Before You Go Sessions

We get you ready to travel with five live online evening sessions that meet once a month prior to departure beginning in December. We will take a little look at every site we will visit and give you timely advice for being an expert traveler.

We welcome families with children as young as 8 years old* [please read our  Lukeion Project Younger Traveler Rules and Guidelines]. Older students (17+) are welcome to travel without a chaperone as are adults of any age. Founders Amy and Regan Barr take special care of our high school senior trip 17 and 18 year olds if they travel without a parent or guardian. Sorry, we cannot accommodate/chaperone independent travelers ages 8-16 without an accompanying adult.

Special warning for Italy travelers: due to parking and traffic, we will do a lot of walking in Rome. Depending on where one chooses to eat lunch or spend free time, it is not unusual to walk 7-10 (flat) miles per day while in Rome. All travelers should be able to comfortably walk "all day."

You DO NOT need to be a registered Lukeion student to travel with us!

Additional Information

Meals and special needs

Regional-style breakfasts and dinners are part of the tour experience. We leave lunches up to you so everyone has the chance to explore their own tastes. Please refer to your itinerary for specific meal details. It is possible to make arrangements for vegetarian and gluten free meals. Though we can make some dietary accomodations we can provide no guarantees for those who suffer from dangerous food allergies.

Full-time Tour Director

We have the best Tour Director in the business. Our trusted, friendly tour director stays with the group 24/7 to handle all tour logistics and to provide cultural insights everywhere the group goes. Sightseeing tours are sometimes led by expert local guides. For those excursions that are not guided, Italy often provides optional audio tours or literature. Your group will get the in-depth version of the world’s greatest attractions. With EF, listed entrance fees are all included in the program cost but participants will be asked to contribute to tips for our tour guide, director, and bus driver.

Worldwide support, safety and security

EF Tours has have over 400 schools and offices in more than 50 countries, which means if something happens, we can react quickly and in person. We also include our $15 million liability policy and $1 million consumer protection plan at no additional cost to travelers.

A full cultural experience

We also treat our travelers to sample many local crafts, foods, etc.  Anticipate stops at local handicraft demonstration centers, exporters of local foods, souvenir shopping, and wine tasting opportunities.

Our native-language speaking private tour director always works closely with trip organizers Regan and Amy Barr to make each trip unique and well-suited to our schedule and group.  We do our best to provide a sample of everything.

Expect the unexpected and be flexible as we work around local conditions to make our trip great!

Recommended: EF Tours offers excellent, comprehensive tour insurance that will handle emergencies from trip cancelation to illness on the journey. We strongly recommend tour insurance for each traveler. Please be sure to sign up before the deadline.
